Saloncuma x Kaplankaya x Pilevneli Pop-up (2021–22)

Where Art, Gastronomy, Architecture and the Spirit of the Aegean Converge

In the Summers of 2021 and 2022, Salon Cuma collaborated with Pilevneli gallery to produce a pop-up experience at The Clubhouse Kaplankaya on Turkiye’s stunning Aegean coast. Here, Salon Cuma’s gastronomic philosophy and Pilevneli’s curated collection of contemporary art worked in tandem to explore how food, art, and architecture complement and elevate one another. The collaboration was built on a simple premise: that food, like art, deserves careful attention and appreciation. When food is viewed as art, meals become more than just sustenance - they become shared experiences to be savored, appreciated, and discussed. Salon Cuma and Pilevneli believed that by first viewing masterful works of art, guests would be able to experience their meals through a similar lens. Each dish, ingredient, and mouthful was, after all, crafted as thoughtfully as the composition, texture, and colors of a work of art. Our philosophy found its natural home in the architectural masterpiece that housed the pop-up. Designed by Spanish architect Carlos Ferrater, the Clubhouse is all about fluid lines and seamless integration with nature. In such an atmosphere, designed with harmony and serenity in mind, guests could fully immerse themselves in a truly unforgettable experience.
